Our Catholic Life

Prayer and Liturgy

At St Thomas More’s, prayer is integral to who we are and all that we do. It shapes our daily routines, brings our community together, and helps every child to grow in faith, hope, and love.

Through prayer, we recognise God’s presence in our lives and seek to respond to His call with open hearts and willing hands.

Each day begins and ends with prayer, providing quiet moments for reflection and thanksgiving. Our classroom prayer areas are places where children feel comfortable speaking to God in their own words, sharing joys and worries alike. Collective worship takes many forms - from simple class prayers to whole-school liturgies and Masses that mark the seasons of the Church year.

Prayer also inspires us to act - to live out our faith through kindness, service, and compassion. Guided by our school mission, we encourage pupils to see prayer not only as words spoken to God, but as love put into action in their daily lives.

Together, these moments of prayer and worship give rhythm and meaning to our days, helping us to walk more closely with God and with one another as we learn, grow, and serve in faith.

  • At St Thomas More’s school, we aim to be a community which shows Love of God and one another.

  • We pray to God together and worship Him as a school and as part of St James the Less and St Helen parish.

  • We aim to be a community that will be known as Christian because of our love.
